QO Amsterdam Hotel

As explained in my previous blog, I visited Amsterdam in August. We booked the trip quite last minute through lastminute.com and basically looked for the cheapest deal!
Looking from the pictures we knew the hotel looked quite nice, but we really weren't expecting what we got!

We arrived at the 21-floor hotel and immediately was blown away with how chic and modern the hotel was. We were greeted on the ground floor and shown to a  lift that would take us up to reception. Check-in was quick and easy (we did need to leave a hefty deposit for the room, but you get this back!) and used the lift again to get to our room as we were on the 8th floor. Initial reaction to the room was, oh my god,, this is beautiful! Very modern, simplistic rooms, but so nice! It was equipped with all toiletries, towels, a dressing gown, slippers and an iPad. The iPad was used to control almost everything in the room, from the lightening, to the heating, to the TV.

Slightly regretted that we didn't book to have breakfast at the hotel as it smelt amazing, but we did find time to check out the roof top bar in the evenings - highly recommend the cocktails!

Whilst we were there, the hotel was in the process of making the 20th floor into a well being studio which looked amazing - I think it’s open now. But they were creating the studio to make a space for mindfulness, yoga etc. Might make a return visit just for this!

The hotel is about a 40 minute walk from the main area of Amsterdam (not that I’m quite sure what the ‘main area’ is!) but there was also a metro opposite the hotel which was so easy to use!

Hope this post helped towards choosing a place to stay in you’re visiting Amsterdam anytime soon!
Take care, love Lauren
